Dead-End Job (2026): Cast, Story, Korean Title & Reported Netflix Release

October 26, 2026

Upcoming Korean drama · Fantasy / mystery / horror · Reported Netflix debut: October 30, 2026

What if a part-time job offered the kind of pay you could only dream about — and turned out to be your worst nightmare? Dead-End Job (꿀알바), starring Lee Jae Wook, Go Min Si, Kim Min Ha and Lee Hee Joon, is one of the Korean series to watch for at the end of October.

Release-date note: October 30 is the reported date in October 2026 drama roundups, but scheduling reports have differed. Confirm the title’s release and your region’s availability in the Netflix app before making plans.

What is Dead-End Job about?

The story follows Hyeok Jun, a young man drawn to an employment agency promising remarkably well-paid work — reportedly many times the usual hourly rate. The offer sounds irresistible until the job leads him into disturbing situations far removed from a normal shift.

Rather than another romantic office comedy, this premise pushes the pressures of working life into a supernatural nightmare. Even the title plays with expectations: 꿀알바 (kkul alba) suggests a coveted, unusually good part-time job.

Drama at a glance

Why it looks interesting

Work is a powerful recurring subject in Korean storytelling. Characters may feel pressure to accept difficult conditions, impress an employer or take an opportunity that seems too good to ignore. Horror turns those pressures into something literal and frightening.

Here, the hook is not simply what happens on the job. It is the decision to take the job in the first place — and the uneasy feeling that desperation can make dangerous offers seem reasonable.

A Korean expression worth knowing: 알바

Alba (알바) is an everyday Korean shorthand for part-time work, from the borrowed term Arbeit. The phrase kkul alba (꿀알바) combines kkul, meaning honey, with alba: a sweet deal, the sort of easy or attractive job people wish they could find. The series title makes that promise sound ominous.

Understanding the expression gives international viewers an extra bit of context before the first episode even starts. That’s the idea behind Beyond the Subtitles: introduce the Korean show, then explain the cultural cues a translation may miss.
